Cherylin Scalia lives and works in Brisbane, Australia. Cherylin graduated from the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, where she majored in Print Media.
Artist Statement
The natural environment has always been an inspiration to me. The mystery, beauty and diversity of the natural world is displayed in all its wonder at both the microscopic and macroscopic level. The intricate patterns and shapes found in biological and geological forms are important visual symbols representing my faith in the interconnectedness of all in the natural universe.The images that I have produced are the result of expressing this connection with my immediate environment. The local creek and surrounding bushland have been a great source for the flora and fauna within the artworks. The artworks are my record of the envrionment in which I live and how I interact with that environment.
