Judging Procedures For The Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - 2027

The judging panel will consist of two Art Specialists from either Australia or Internationally - chosen by The Australian Watercolour Muster - 2027, Curator Wyn Vogel.

An additional judge may be appointed at the discretion of the Curator in exceptional circumstances.

  • Judging involves a pre-selection process from the image provided with the Entry Form - Finalists from this pre-selection process will be shown live on the Australian Watercolour Muster Digital Gallery from the 19th May 2027 for the duration of the Australian Watercolour Muster 2027 period, and

  • A final selected of up to 32 Works from Categories 1 to 3 will be made by the judges and these Works will be the subject of a live/physical Exhibition @ The Mill - 154 Angas St, Adelaide SA 5000 from the 19th to 23rd May 2027

  • A number of international Artists Works from Category 4 - will be made by the Judges and these Works will be the subject of a live/physical Exhibition@ The Mill - 154 Angas St, Adelaide SA 5000 from the 19th to 23rd May 2027

Judges may consider anything they may in their absolute discretion deem relevant as part of their judging criteria - including the artist’s creativity and technical skill.

All decisions by Judges are at their absolute discretion and are final and binding on all artists.

No correspondence will be entered into with any artist in relation to any matter concerning the art prize, the short listing of works to be exhibited, or any other matter whatsoever.

Artists (or others on behalf of an artist) who attempt to influence the judging (either directly or indirectly) (the decision of which shall be in the absolute discretion of the judges) may cause the artist’s work to be disqualified.
